third time is the charm? chances?

Instate

High school:
- Finished high school with a 3.6 weighted GPA or 2.8 non-weighted
- Mostly B’s with the occasional A or C
-All honors or AP classes
- During junior year, yearlong exchange student to Germany on a scholarship
-1390 out of 1600 SAT
Applied for my freshman year (fall 2006) and was rejected

Freshman year at college:
-Finished freshman year at JMU with 3.86 GPA, both semesters I had four A’s and one B+
-Semi rigorous classes
Applied to UVA for fall 2007 transfer, I was waitlisted and I accepted a spot on the extended waitlist, I eventually did not get taken off the waitlisted

I am applying for mid-year transfer into the college of the arts and sciences as a Econ/German double major
-took community college summer school, and received an A in college chemistry
-I currently have 38 college credits and at the end of this semester I will have earned 53

Chances on getting in mid-year? It will be my third time applying

i didn’t state it early in the post… UVA is the school im applying to

something is missing here

are you a junior? what happened between your fall '07 transfer waitlist and now? did you sit out a year or something?

no sorry if it wasnt clear,
im back at JMU this semester
I’m a sophmore and I will be applying for mid-year sophmore transfer

goodness and i got my years wrong!! ahha sorry i’ve been doing work all day

applied for freshman year Fall 2007
sophmore year Fall 2008
and
I am applying for spring mid year transfer starting Jan 2009

are you attempting to apply two semesters in a row? it sounds like it…if so, many schools that i have researched will NOT allow individuals to apply in consecutive semesters…i would actually be surprised if they let you, but definantly look into it

what was your 2400 score? what are your ec’s?

FYI, I was considering to apply mid year to UVA. One, if this is the second time you’re applying (in terms of consecutive semesters), I would highly advise against that. Two, the acceptance rate for UVA during the spring semester is extremely low, and when I spoke with an admissions counselor at UVA she said, and I quote, “If you really want to transfer here, wait until fall”.

im going to call monday, i’ve never heard that you can’t apply two semesters in a row

tell us what they say, im kinda curious
