If ever there was a question for me, lol. Some depends on what you want to do. Do you want to stay there for four years or is your goal to transfer to Notre Dame? If it is the latter, you still have a lot of freedom in which you choose, but it just really needs to be a 4-year school and preferably not Saint Mary's.

I think the next best school varies for everyone, you just have to see where you think you fit. I went to Creighton University because it was far from home, but not too far (about 8 hours), had a solid pre-med program (I wanted to be a doctor at the time), they had shown that they truly wanted me there, and I had a nice scholarship to boot. It just depends what you are looking for, however. I could have gotten into more prestigious schools than Creighton, but I didn't really want to. Creighton was fine for me as it was a good Jesuit education and if it wasn't going to be ND then that is what I wanted.

I hope that helps some, but hopefully you guys won't have to face that decision.

well if I dont get to Notre Dame... my first plan of action would be a tub of ice cream........
But really
IVe been thinking about this a lot lately.... and I think I would go to the college that i would be the happiest at, not neccesarily the best college to transfer from
so my list of preference after Notre Dame would be
Michigan
USC (Cringe and Groan and Yell)
Boston College
University of San Diego

But hey,,, i wont have to worry bout that cuz I'm gonna get in to Notre Dame on my first try... no doubt (knock on wood)

All of those would be fine to transfer from as well. Also, my first course of action was hugging my black lab for 20 minutes.

hmmm... ya that would be good too... my dog would go crazy cuz shes to hyper to pet for 20 minutes....

ya.... honestly my next step would probably be to go to a mall and buy some clothes... cuz it wouldnt be good to wear anymore ND clothing... which would be tought cuz my wardrobe is about 80 percent ND stuff.....

Hell.... why are we talking about this

It wont be a problem! I can still wear all my ND clothes cuz I will will will will will will will get into Notre Dame

I was thinking more in terms of another school that has the love/energy/passion/sports/Catholic family thing going on. I can't seem to find any one that compares with ND.

oh ya.... ive looked sunshadow...... havent been able to find one yet.....
I'll keep looking and let you know when i find ND's twin! haha the truth is...... theres no place like ND

Boston College maybe?

ya...... I would agree that thats the closest

I suppose...but I live right near there and grew up here, and it's a lot more liberal than out-of-staters think. Certainly not a Notre Dame.

ya well like I said

Theres no place like Notre Dame.......
You can look and look... but if you try to compare everything to notre dame... you may be dissapointed

Right. I guess I am just going to keep my fingers crossed about Notre Dame. Ironically, a lot of people I have spoken to think that choosing Notre Dame is about being guaranteed to make a lot of money after graduation. It is SO much more than that. In fact, that is not my motivation for wanting D there at all. Sure, the education is important. But it's more about the faith and sense of family that I want her to get out of it.

I dont blame you for wanting that for your daughter... mainly cuz i want the same thing for myself

Chillin...you'll get in.

I just have this feeling....and I am going to pray that you do get in!
