This board needs a sticky'd FAQ...

Sounds a lot more useful than college rankings from last year. I mean just for starters, so we can get those seasonal newbs educated.

"Is it possible to double major in electrical and chemical engineering?"

"What's the difference between computer science and computer engineering?"

"Can I do my undergrad in mechanical and grad in aerospace?"

"Is it worth an extra $30k a year to go to a school that's ranked 1 spot higher?"

"Will I make 7-figures straight out of college and have a Ferrari and tons of girls who want to touch me in places?"

Questions about the different subsets within certain fields of engineering (civil: transportation, structural, etc; Mechanical: HVAC, automotive, etc)

Also, a copy/paste of a sakky post that has the word "banking" in it. Yeah, any of them. They're all the same. It'd save him a lot of time and save the site a lot of bandwidth.

Good idea. Perhaps we should discuss what should go in that FAQ here and then PM a moderator to sticky it. I don’t think they actively monitor this forum.

Lol. I love how my topic was posted first. ;]

I’m a chick intent on majoring in engineering. My only gauge of what male engineers are like is observing my peers in PLTW. I was wondering, exactly how odd is the average engineer?

some dudes are pretty well adjusted. some are weird as hell. EE/CS have fewer well-adjusted guys than the other engineering majors, in my experience.

a lot of engineering guys like to put down engineering girls though . . . see one of the recent threads for details

I was considering EE too. I might shock some of the more oblivious guys into puberty ;)

That’s in line with my experiences as well. I don’t know why it is, but it just tends to be that way.

I have definitely NOT seen that as a trend (perhaps a few isolated cases, but that’s it). And what thread are you referring to?

yeah i should retract that statement. i should have posted:

male engineering students like to complain on the internet that their female classmates aren’t supermodels
