This can't be good

Does anyone else here spend more time looking at how to get into colleges and how to get good SATs rather than actually try to do it themselves.

It seems like I sit down to try and increase my grades or SATs but all I can do is look at stats and such. I can't actually sit down and do practice questions or anything, but instead look at what a school's SAT percentile is.

Am I alone? Am I doomed?

It seems that you are once again, thinking about stats and such, rather than focusing on actually doing it :D

Get to that book right now, sir;)

LOL. you're exactly like me hahaha.

:(( i spend too much time researching / reading stats / talking about college than actually doing what i need to to get there, haha. ugh.

Same here!!

I actually learned how to research well though. I decided to look up schools that I really liked, had great departments, and met the stats I have right now. I know its horrible because now I have no motivation but at least I don't feel the need to sit down at my desk studying all day.

I have done a great job researching schools that fit me, but due to all this researching it is hindering my actual results. What the hell. If I keep this up I'll never get into any of the schools I want to.

I woke up at 10 planning on doing some work today, I have yet to start any hw or practice SATs or APs.

On another note I did throw out all the irrelevant mail from colleges I have been getting. My day is not a complete waste rolls eyes

I'm screwed. Attempt number 3 so far today at hitting the books wish me luck.

Yeah i am like that 2, and hav always been like that even before CC. I just get so distracted and so curious about how i stack up.

what you do is unplug the internet (maybe give the lan cable to your parents) and tell them to give it to you at, say 2 PM.

thus, you can look forward to the researching and etc. for 4 hours, while doing something productive in the waiting.

Or.. force yourself into the library. I suppose you could go CC/look up random stats, but you'll probably be more likely to SAT then research there.

oh my gosh. same here. i just look into it, but i dont really go through with the studying/working hard stuff.

and when i need to type an essay or something i'm usually either on here, college board, facebook, or aim (the orange flashing bugs me, so i HAVE to answer) ... so disconnecting the internet is not a bad idea.

too bad all the computers in my house run on the same WLAN, so my brother would kill me if i disconnected the internet.

go into your hosts file and redirect CC to collegeboard.com :P

Seriously get off this site.

It's crack.

Come back as a senior :)

Feng I have tried to put this site on my host file, it did not work. For some reason I can't get into my host file.

It is now 5 o clock Eastern, and I have still yet to do anything. I did just go to Barnes and Noble and picked up an AP review book and went to the bank. Sadly, today is one of the more productive Saturdays I have had in a long time.

I just don't have the heart to unplug the internet, I'll give it a try in a few minutes.

I'm hopeless.

I finally studied!!!

I went to the library with my SAT book and it worked. I'm going to start doing that a lot more often.

i know what you mean. it's a bad habit
: )
