But I am so nervous for all the college decisions to come out.
Mehhhhhhhhhhh

You're definately not the only person, bud.

dude, i feel the pain. i have grown into the most impatient and anxious person around.

Just think of it this way...only ~32 more days to go!!!!!!!

Just relax. There's nothing you can do but enjoy the last half of senior year-you'll go where you are meant to go.

i'm more nervous than all of u combined. Dude, ur from the OC. Party it up.

i know. i'm sitting here being nervous right now. It's a good distraction from research paper writing.

haha same here, i'm sitting here being nervous instead of doing spanish homework. and i'm extra nervous because i haven't gotten any admissions decisions yet. i didn't apply early anywhere, or rolling. all RD!!!

I wish I could take it easy second semester, but I'm in IB so we have our extended essay, our TOK essay, our two world literature papers, our group 4 projects for science, our history papers, and our world lit orals all in the span of 3 weeks.

But yeah, it's kind of nice to have the oc to party in, wrathofgod64. ;)

ay, pri430, just a random question, I watched the movie "orange county" several months ago, and it was definitely really funny and overall a great movie. But um, the whole scenery and basic ideology of students etc etc portrayed in the movie, is it similar to the actual thing? Is it really a lot of rich ppl in huge houses and bla and u know all that kinda stuff? I've always been curious, because I live in Morris County (second richest county in the nation), and I really don't believe we can be considered rich, there's only like 3 towns that make the entire county one of the richest..the rest of the 50+ towns are basically just like all the other towns in jersey.

Well it depends on which part of orange county you go to.
The north isn't as wealthy as the south, and the coastal communities are definitely very rich. I'm in the south slightly inland, so it's pretty average. Homes with ~2800 sq footage are in the upper $900,000 around here. It's really ridiculous because what people call the "ghetto" of my city is just an older version of our own and with a higher mexican population.

As for the ideology of the students, it's fairly accurate. It wasn't so much like that until the show "The OC" came out and then people started growing huge heads and acting like they were all that. It's the basic ideology you will find among average teenagers. However, that's not to say there are different groups of kids. In orange county there is a huge movement called "scene," which is similar to "emo" (I actually don't know the difference), which came after "straight edge" but straight edgers never really kept with their rules. So it's all pretty crazy. basically, the sad thing is that Orange County teenagers try to fit a mold, just as is true of high schoolers across the country. They just happen to be wealthy and in a bubble so they have the $ and the boredom to become especially vapid.

oh true, that's pretty cool, thanks a lot for answering. One of the reasons I asked was cuz I always wanted to live in orange county, esp where the OC takes place (even though I have never watched the show, just seen the beginning where the show the scenery and stuff, seems so relaxing and beautiful). But yeah, thanks a lot.

"Homes with ~2800 sq footage are in the upper $900,000 around here."

Holy crap. My house is 3100 feet and it cost $325,000.

xindianx, I live in Morris County as well. Just curious, what part of the county do you live in / what school do you go to (I go to West Morris). Anyway, Mendham is really what makes the county one of the richest in the nation, it's one of the 250 richest towns in America. Whitney Houston's got an 11 million dollar house there. As far as my town goes, most of us are upper middle class, just a few really "rich" families. The houses are aren't quite as expensive as what pri said they are in the OC, but they're definitely up there price-wise.

Hey, I live in Roxbury (it's next to Mount Olive). I lived in Parsippany for 15 years, and then moved here sophomore year of high school. Do you go to West Morris Central? We debate WMC in the Northwest Debate League, they're pretty good. And yeah, that's what I mean, towns like Chatham, Mendham, Madison, Bedminister, etc, they make Morris County way richer than it actually is.

Just freeze yourself for a month. You won't feel a thing.

Hazhulkhen has the best idea. Too bad I'd miss about eight exams and get all my admissions rescinded as soon as they came in.

I'm. about. to. die. I wish life had a fast-forward button.

Good to know I'm not the only one.

Mystic Merlin definitely had the best advice.

so if you were to be frozen... would you be really really cold until you fell unconscious, or do they put you to sleep first?

Wow... you are really going to have to pay a shiny penny to get into the scenery that you see in the OC. Ya, I will say there is that vibe and certainly the crowd that you see from the OC, that is mostly southern OC like Laguna Beach, Irvine, Newport, Corona del Mar. Thats where its all at. Were talking million dollar homes, brat kids who whine to daddy for more money, and the lavish lifestyle to go along with it. Ya so living in SoCal is heck of a lot of fun, especially if you got the money... (damn, wish I was rich, but hey thats what Im going to do after college!)
