This forum is the most depressing

We just sent our kids to expensive private colleges so we could put the window decals in our cars.

Of course this forum is depressing for a STUDENT! It reminds you that some day you too will be a parent and will send your children to college. How depressing is that??

Yeah, and it's depressing that the decals cost more than the cars!

It's called payback time. Depressing indeed!

audiophile - I never thought of how much that little window sticker cost... Do we get to factor in the cost of all those extracurriculars it took to get them in to Decal U, or is the value of the sticker just Total COA?

We got a decal AND a license plate frame for our $200,000!

Bengal-
We got a window decal, plastic plate frame (kinda chintzy) AND a "cozey" (one of those things you put on you soda can to keep it cool). Wow. I think we hit the jackpot.

oh my...this is not depressing at all. My s's decal was MUCH cheaper than what I'm reading here.

We're sending a second kid to the same school and they're NOT even sending a fresh window decal this time. This is unacceptable and I plan to call the Dean.

Yes, Harriet, you should definitely get a bonus for sending them TWO kids! They are really taking you for granted.

Shocking, isn't it? They must think we're really impressed or something. Go figure.

I think I'll just buy an impressive bumper sticker on ebay and pretend we have a student there. Much cheaper!

Wait a minute. We only got one decal from one school, nothing from the other. Some "give" out license plate frames? Which schools are those? I'll put those on the list for Child #3 to apply to.

Wow, this really is depressing...

were just in it for the free trip to vegas.

NOT to make this thread any more depressing than it already is (I am still trying to take in that DS might have chosen his school because of the cool decal he got!) but you MIGHT want to prepare yourself for when the mods move us downstairs to the "Cafe"! (don't you just hate it that they ALWAYS make us go downstairs just when we're starting to have some FUN up here???!! ;) )

Soda!?! You mean, like with caffiene?

Use that cozy for beer and you'll be one step closer to relaxing. :D

Thanks, guys, I really needed that!!! Thanks for the first laugh of the day!

DougBetsy-
I was gonna describe the cozey as something to put on a can of beer, but (1) I woudl never ever want to suggest that I consume alcoholic beverages in front of the minors posting here and (2) who the heck can afford beer when paying these exhorbitant tuitions? They should hand out the cozey with the beer inside of it, IMO.

All right...that made me laugh!

Expect an influx of kids on the Parents Forum now that school is out for many.

All we got for our $200K were yearly letters asking us for donations...But D is employed in this bad economy, so I sent her college some more $. I'm the supertitious type...

Gee, if that OP kid thought our high expectations were depressing, think how depressed he must be seeing how much we enjoy ourselves doing it!
