True confessions time here. With the exception of the first "XXXX University mom" decal that made it onto the back of my old minivan (that ultimately became DS's mode of transportation, hence earning that aforementioned nickname "soccermom") the remaining decals from both schools went right into a drawer. No free advertising on our vehicles! No sirreee!!

BUT**** DS#2s school outdid themselves at parents weekend this fall-- they gave us ...... wait for it......... Pens with the school logo!!!! (so perhaps we could write out our tuition checks faster??) Well, today, mine ran out of ink :( Do I have to pay another large chunk of change to get another pen, or will they let me skip this semester's tuition payment since my pen (err... their pen) won't write?

Noo, I want to skip next semesters payment entirely. If I follow the "dad II" method, I should go on multiple exotic vacations and spend down all my traceable cash. Then ask that my FA be reviewed. Sounds like a plan....

^^^ but of course, chintzy. BTW, do you get royalties every time we describe items in such glowing, eloquent and sophisticated terms? And why do I feel like I am on the old Groucho Marx show " ding ding say the magic woid.. win a hundred dollahs". Does anyone else remember that show?? Oh.. I am old and tired.. better go to bed in those chintz sheets. **** ding ding**** say the magic woid-- win a hundred dollars.....

I suppose it is nice to have a parents forum, so the parents don't seep into the other forums and try to post there. Perhaps the best option is to just take off the link on the forums to this while letting it exist, then nobody would accidentally stumble upon this hellhole.

LOL. Sounds like you are referring to the CC cafe?? Its a scary place down there......

^^ I think you could be late on the tuition payment due to the pen running out of ink. You might want to ask Dad II for advice on that......

LOL!!!!!This is so hilarious! (I have been proud of myself for not posting on DadII's latest thread as I don't think I could contain myself).

MOWC...first I thought your post about yawn's member name was very funny but this post outdid the other one. Thank you for the laugh!

Actually, many students visit the Parent Forum as they know they will get thoughtful advice from many helpful parents.

But some of us also avoid fora such as the Cafe or High School Life or What are My Chances. To each his own.

I can't believe no one has pointed out to soozievt that if her D2 had higher SAT scores she could have attended a school with proper window decals! :)

maysixx...lol! Well, problem is, any schools that require any higher SAT scores do not have her major/program! (BFA in Musical Theater)

That said, I think her SAT scores likely helped with all the scholarships her school is giving her so I can't complain. But I sure would like the decals that stick to the OUTSIDE of the window. I looked it up on their bookstore page and no can do. But as I have no complaints about her 3 1/2 years so far at her college, if the decal problem is it, I'll have been a very lucky parent.

I did notice that they now offer a bumper sticker but I have never been fond of bumper stickers and it would be like one of my kid's got the car window and the other was relegated to the bumper...ugh. Well, she has never said a thing about how we drive around without her school represented on the car....and her decal is sitting on the counter ever since she was admitted. Perhaps we should put it in our front window of the house? It isn't tinted. Well, I think I will draw the line there.

Uh oh. I just realized there's no room left on my rear windshield for a college sticker, when that day comes. 2 kids X honor roll at elementary, middle & HS filled it up. And the tailgate? Nope. Filled with magnets from this team or that team. The bumper has stickers, too (mine). No room there.

What's the protocol? Remove "student of the week" from elementary school? Or get a new car?

Soozie - I've got some "friends" who can get you whatever decal you want. Meet me at Buds 8-Ball Tuesday after ten. I'll be at the back table. Bring cash.
