This is an extremely dumb question, but is there any way to

…apply to Bowdoin even though the deadline has passed?

I had been meaning to apply since my sophomore year, and in between applying to 16 other schools and my counselor telling me not to add another reach school to the mix, it didn’t happen. I knew I would regret it then, and I regret it even more now. I had an interview lined up and planned on meeting with a friend who currently attends. My stats were by no means spectacular (32 ACT, retaking the SAT in January and aiming for 2250 or so) and I doubt I would have been accepted had I applied. But I just really regret not doing it.

Send the application today/tomorrow (I’m pretty sure the system doesn’t cut you off. I sent my Penn supplement 9 minutes late - the whole freaking commonapp shut down at 11:50 for 20 minutes :o). Call the admissions office Monday.

I submitted it. I guess I should just see where the ride takes me. ;)

Contact your regional admissions officer and explain what happened. They will hopefully understand. And yes, they do give extensions occasionally.

Also, when you do that, I might not go into all of the details (i.e. they don’t need to know that you applied to 16 other schools, specifically) and focus more on how interested you are in the school and why you regretted not applying. Good luck!
