Even though you are black, your scores are simply too low.
I'm sorry, but the chances of you getting a 33 are also dismal considering your SAT. a 33 is like 730-740's across. You're not going to raise your scores like 350 points.

I got into yale then turned it down for Williams ... I think that your fine.... Dont worry so much about whether or not this forum believes that you will get into Yale. If you want Yale bad enough and you try...you have nothing to lose. honestly, and speaking hollistically, I believe that right now you have a 50/50 shot without the ACT. I know this might start an uproar, but I know people who have gotten lower scores oin the SAT....and have gotten into Yale, Harvard, Oxford...you name it... These people were however, very passionate in what they were doing when it came to extracurriculars....

Also..it is very posible for you to raise your SAT score to the equivalent of a 34 on the ACT. My sister did...my ocusins ... and a lot of my classmates...

hey the courseload is strong, GPA is good, strong music extracurriculars, URM, everything is lookin really good... until we hit those test scores, but remember, that thats only part of the package, and yeah a 1840 is really low for yale, but with everything else i'd definately encourage you to apply, and hey if you can pull that 33, youre looking great, hey man best of luck, we're all gonna need it, and hopefully ill see you in September 2008!
PS. on the ACTs, i personally found that time was a bigger issue than content, so definately take more practices, and i hope it works out
if you have any other questions feel free to PM
good luck!

thats not true lerm89. you only need 2 SAT II's if you take teh SATs and NONE if you take the ACTs. but some schools do require three so unless you're positive you'll get into yale, you shoudl make sure u have three.
