:( that makes me sad...

oh well. i guess i should just stop thinking about it...

i'm pretty sure i'm below 3.7 unweighted if you calculate in my freshman year grades. they're were beyond dismal.

Did they get angry when you called to check the status of your application? I want to call and ask (I mean the letter says they haven't reached a decision yet and i'm still being considered for admission, they'll be reading and rereading it apprently) and just find out anything new... but I'm afraid they'll get annoyed or something

honestly I think you should be okay... you just may not get a scholarship, the way I see it... I just want to get in, if I don't get a scholarship oh well... they have good financial aid and my parents are willing to help because they know I really really want to go there

oh no the lady was very nice. i'm sure they'll be angry if you call, say, 50 times to inquire about your status but if you call a few times, it'll be fine. i just don't think you should pry too much. hahaha. that might get them angry because i don't think they know much to begin with. all they do is pull up your file electronically anways.

oh that and i was suspended for a day freshman year for doing something stupid but what can i say? i had MANY problems freshman year... (explained in my long essay :D)

that's true... anyways is USC your first choice? Where else did you apply?

--->I don't think a one day suspension will hurt you that much, and if you explained it you should be fine.

yeah sc is my first choice.

i applied to notre dame, emory, cornell, sc, nyu, la, berkeley, sd, and sb.

The good part is that you improved. They will take that into account. Colleges always like people who overcome their problems. There is no way you are rejected yet. Don't worry until after April!

wow that's a lot, haha funny you apply to notre dame and la when they are two of USC's most hated enemies ;). Ya I applied to Chapman(I got in for film already with a scholarship, but I really don't like the school), NYU, SB, LA(my parents made me), berkeley and stanford(cause my dad went to both), and cal states as back ups but that's it. USC is my first choice too

i sure hope that suspension won't hurt me... i sure hope my low grades in my previous years won't hurt me either.

:( until i get something from sc though, i'm pretty dead set on the fact that i'm not getting in.

i mean, why haven't i gotten ANYTHING from them yet??

I agree with CC411, overcoming adversity is always looked favorably on

I dunno why you havne't gotten anything yet... it really doesn't make any sense, but then again I dunno this does seem to be a weird year for admissions.

cc411: what is your status by the way? are you in already or still waiting?

LOL i know. all my friends who go to nd and la always say "SCREW SC" to me but i always say i can't until i know i've been rejected :D.

sb is my first backup and sd is my second back up. i REALLY don't want to end up at either of those. last year, i think sd accepted about 100 students from my school... i don't know about sb. probably even more.

Still Waiting!

ya same, chapman is my backup, but honestly I think I would get seriously depressed going there just because it's so small and not spirited... i'd much rather go to a cc and transfer

i sure hope so cc411 :(

i've improved every single year (except for senior year haha but they didn't ask me for midyears so YAY) and i went from a 3.5 to a 4.5.

where do you go to school?

you were pretty much on the dot for me. hahaha.

cc411 did you apply early too? which major? did you apply for any alumni scholarships? (i've only heard that town and gown have been notified so far)

I called after the "no scholarship" letter and they said everyone who applied by the scholarship deadline and didn't get a scholarship would receive this letter. So postalxservice, you are actually better off not receiveing the letter yet because you are still being considered.

it would be so nice to get into my first choice. honestly though, i'll be very depressed if i don't get into sc because all my other schools (other than sb and sd) and harder to get into.

i always thought chapman university was on chapman ave. i found out i was wrong. LOL.

that's right! i had forgotten about that, see things look even better postalxservice!
