This is Embarassing, How Badly Does it Hurt Me? Will "chance back" or whatever is requested

<p>Bottom line, I completely forgot about my Cornell interview yesterday (Super Bowl Sunday) and as you might imagine it's extremely embarrassing. More than being worried about my chances I really just feel like an asshole for making this old guy go to the library and have me not show up, but I must ask the selfish question of, how badly does this affect me? Does this preclude acceptance? Put a minor dent? Something in between? Basic stats are 1600 SAT, Senior your courses AP: Chem, Physics C, Sats, English lit, Multivariable Calc, Honors Latin (no AP offered), Indendent Study AP Java, 3.8 gpa (weighed down by 3.4 freshman year) and then for the most recent senior year marking period I got most likely the highest gpa in the grade (a class with 9 harvard acceptees, 2 yale, 1 MIT, 7 cornell?, no princeton (my early), good amount of Penn, etc.). Thank you for answering, and if it's not too much trouble I have a chance page and I will provide any input on pages that you have as well.</p>

<p>It might hurt you if you do nothing about it, since not showing up shows disinterest. Maybe email the guy, apologize, and ask to reschedule? </p>

<p>I think it depends on how the old man handled it. Maybe he lost or something in which case you completely blew it. Otherwise he might have recognized that it was Super Bowl and let you slide a little on that. (Especially if you are interested in sports and have that on your resume). If I were you I would call/email to apologize and try to reschedule but don’t take my word for this.

<p>Hopefully the old man has a good sense of humor about it…I’d call him and apologize. If you have sports on your application, that might help you case a bit. <p>Absolutely message him with an apology and a decent excuse. If you take no action it will reflect very badly to the school. If he is willing to reschedule do not hesitate to take him up on the offer. If not, at least you apologized. </p>

<p>First thing in the morning, call him and apologize. Admit that it was your mistake. Take responsibility. People love that. Ask him if you could reschedule. If you have sports on your application he might let it slide. Good Luck!</p>

<p>It puts you on a pivotal spot. Hard to determine where you will slide down to. Different people see this differently. So realistically you have no chance of finding out how this will affect your chances. Just let it go.</p>

If you ask and take full responsibility (even if you can’t reschedule) you may have a chance :)) </p>
