Good…glad to hear the parents are coming around. :)

but, why not apply to SUNY Purchase? Wouldn’t you rather go to a 4 year than a CC - if the money doesn’t work out for the others?

Soccer - don’t look at it as being stuck. You will save $$$$ and be just as graduated in four years! The $7k will probably come close to paying for two years at a CC. In ten years when you go to buy a house you won’t want to be burdened with huge student loan debts. When I graduated HS there was a CC nearby that “everyone” went to. There was no way I was going to go there. It happened to be one of the highest rated JCs in the country and looking back it would have been so much smarter for me to go there for two years. But, I don’t know what you imagine your career path to be so I can’t speak for the importance of going to the “right” school. Just don’t discount the CC so easily.

I might apply to Purcchase because I would get more money there than at New Paltz because anyone can get into Purchase.

Good!

And if you do well there, maybe you can transfer to a private with good aid once your EFC goes down when your bro goes to college.

Since you think CC is so bad then it would’ve been better to apply for outside scholarships. There are scholarships out there giving 10k for writing a small essay. Its tons of money out there and I applied to alot because the idea of taking out loans for my undergrad seems absurd.

But some of these people have some good ideas so do what you think is best for you:)

IBSenior…

When will you know if you’ve won any of these scholarships?

By the end of March.

But Soccer alot of scholarships are still open so you can still go and do some. And I’m sure that they have some for engineering:)

My school has some in guidance I’ll go try and find some.
