i just learned today that i just got fired from my job (that i had for a month) because i wasn't "aggressive" enough with sales. plus my school wants early action applications by next week, and i still have to start my essays. all of them. and if that doesn't suck enough for you, my mom just had surgery. she's doing fine, but worried me to heck. just venting. any words of encouragement or advice would be helpful and appreciated (except scolding me for not starting essays yet. not cool)

you have asked for recomendations for early at least, right? I think the best thing to do is just focus on your one favorite school, your most probable acceptance school, and one in the middle, and get those essays done. If you just cant deal with any more, at least you will have something aired. Chances are you will pick yourself out of your slump and get everything you need done.

Erm, did you receive any warnings for your incompetency at work, or was the termination just out of the blue or something?

Haha, and high-five for college-app procrastination! Woohoo!

What was your mum's surgery for?

yeah, i feel you...my early apps are due, but I'm only doing ivy, middle-match, and rolling...SO yeah! i have to fix 1 essay a lot, the others a little, study for SATs (haven't started), and have two tests on MONDAY that cover 3 weeks of stuff, and a 2 page paper due tuesday

If you're low on time/stressed out [or just.. somebody like ME, lol] don't bother studying for the SATs. They. are. not. hard.

^ my SATs aren't terrible: 2170...but I need to get my math and writing up (they're hovering around 680 land, my cr is 800). I'd feel better if they were higher

2170 is fine, studying for it at this point is a waste of time, since if youre not going to get in with a 2170, your not going to get in with 2250.
