This is just great.

I'm a sophomore, and was planning to apply to some Ivies my senior year... but due to a horrible English teacher my freshman year and my inability to understand chemistry, my grades are less-than-perfect.

This is what my transcript looks like (academic classes only):

English 9 (B+/B)
Algebra II/Trig Honors (A/A)
Geometry (A/A)
Western Civilization (A/A)
Biology Honors (A-/A)
Spanish 3 (A/A)

So far:

English 10 (A) <-- hopefully this will make adcoms realize that 9th grade was inaccurate?
Pre-Calculus Honors (A)
Chemistry Honors (B-) <--- ew. This is what's really making me worried.
AP Spanish (A)
History of Japan (A-)

Am I screwed? All the 4.0's on this forum are scaring me. But then again, the school I go to is one of the most competitive international schools outside the US, so...

You're only taking 5 classes?

5 academic classes. The rest are PE and Guitar (which I don't think mean much to adcoms). I have A's in both, though.

Bumping this up... these grades are really making me nervous. Using the standard GPA system, in which A=4, B=3, C=2, etc., my GPA so far would be about a 3.85...

^ 3.85, factoring in the non-academic classes.

That's really good GPA. u don't need to be worried
