To briefly talk about me, i'm an international student who just arrived in the beginning of 2007. Since, for my personal point of view, high school was just a boring place as far as education goes. I thought I already exceeded all the teachers so i decided to quit high school and took a GED.

Then, it just came natural for me to think about studying in the United States considering the fact that my major is Physics. Physcs programs are surely the best in the US, no doubt. So I did and, right after i arrived in the US, i took SAT and got 2390, and 800, 800, 790 for math b/c, physics and chem. I maintained a perfect GPA in the college i'm currently in right now and, since the education in a community college is full of a bunch of crabs that even toddlers can learn, I decided to apply cornell.

But the experience in a community college is, in some ways, not bad at all. Because its level of education is amazingly low, at least that's what i put it, i had a plenty of time to concentrate areas other than Physics and Mathematics. For example, I'm a researcher at the ANS biology lab in PA and also a band member.

Plus, with mathematics and physics olympiad awards and several of other awards that i got when i was still in high school including honors, my application looks pretty good to get accepted.

But now i'm pretty sure that i'm definitedly rejected.

The story is this, I started sending my application in september actually, pretty early for the transfer admission. In the beginning of Oct, i called cornell to check the status and they said they didn't have my secondary transcript even though they had everything that i sent by then. At that time, i had two copies of it so i sent one. In the late Nov, i called again to check and they said they still didn't have it, so i sent my last copy of transcript including my GED certificate and scores with confirmation service through the USPS. Later, I checked for the letters and the USPS said Cornell did recieve it. But, today i called again, this was just about minutes ago, they still don't have it.

This is just ridiculous, I mean is it even possible that they lost my three copies of transcript consecutively during past the 3 months? only three days left and i don't think i can get the transcript and GED from all the way back to my country and send it in 3 days. I don't even want to do that for cornell anymore. and what's the chance of loosing three letters from the same appicant? I just surprised by the fact that the university like cornell processes application so loosely, that's just unacceptable.

I'll just stick to Michigan State. They, for example, released a decision in 4 days after the application was completed. Well, at least Michigan States has 2007 nobel price winner in the field of physics, that's so cheering.

For those who are waiting for the decision for the spring transfer, don't hesitate to call for your status if you have any missing records. Make it right and don't follow my case, at least, you guys don't need to translate all the paperwork(believe me, if you ever had to do this, you would go nuts, and the translation has to be certified to maintain its validity) and, best of all, you can just go to you school and get transcript. can't you?
