This is my plan : Will it work ?

I will be going to California on a student visa to study film at a community college for 2 years, I will fiance all my studies my self. I will get my associates degree and then apply to Univeristy of California, but first I will work the year that Im allowed as intership. And before the time is over I will try to Enroll into Univeristy of California at Long Beach, but I will try to get in-state tuition.

Can I work something out in the time of two years at a community college and a year of work to be eligable for in-state tuition when I decide to start UC at age 24 and my purpose being to make California my permanent home. ?

As discussed yesterday, you will never qualify for in-state tuition in CA as long as you are on a student visa: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/international-students/532601-here-s-my-situation-will-i-able-stay-us-work-live.html

But it is possible for you to qualify for in-state tuition by getting a different visa: the procedure is called 'marriage'. If you decide to go that route, it is vital that you get the proper fiance visa first because otherwise the permanent resident visa application will take so long that you would have graduated before you get it. What you want to do is leave the US, apply for a K-1 visa, come back to the States, marry a US citizen, and then file for adjustment of status.

this is ridiculous
