This is probably a stupid question, but does Penn accept rec letters electronically?

I haven't read anything on Penn's website that explicitly states anything about this. Is it just a given that all schools that use the Common App accept rec letters electronically?

Oh, and if my teachers were to physically send their letters, around how long before the deadline should they send their letters?

I'm just really anxious right now.

^Are you absolutely sure you can’t have your teachers send it electronically?

I’m not sure. Both of the teachers I asked last spring told me to prepare envelopes for them, so I think they prefer sending their letters via snail mail. I haven’t started school yet, but when I do, I’m going to ask them if they would mind submitting their letters electronically. I’m just uncomfortable with the idea of physically sending the letters because they can get lost or take a longer time than expected to arrive to the schools.

Colleges prefer electronic letters and if a teacher prefers to mail them, then it is upto you to ensure you collect the addresses where a school will accept paper letters.

It seems like Penn is trying make it hard for anyone wanting to send postal mail which means you should call and ask.

^What he said. Also, you should probably talk to your guidance counselor about this and ask what students from your school usually do.

Thanks for the replies, everybody.
