This Is So Unfair

First - I have nothing against Rutgers, as it is my Dream school.

I applied EA and still haven't heard back. However, a few people I know applied RD and heard back already.
Isn't it unfair that people who applied for regular decision is hearing back way before early action people?
I worked hard on my application - and basically put my whole day into it.
I feel that If people applied EA, they should be looked at BEFORE RD, not in any random order.

The wait is so stressful and nerve wrecking :(

They way colleges handle admission processes is they admit qualified students first. It’s not just Rutgers that follows this pattern of admission. If an EA applicant hasn’t heard back by now, it means that his/her application will be pushed until the very end after all the seats are given out to the qualified students. If there are any open seats left, the admission office will provide the remaining seat to the detained applicant.

But will I at least find out by Jan 31st since that is the EA decision date?

Yep.
I know how you feel man. But hey life isn’t fair.

SAME thing happening to me.

What are your stats? Because unless you have over a 3.7 and an 1850 SAT score, you will not hear until the end of Jan. It’s pretty impossible to get in right now. They will accept everyone with the good scores and then start accepting/ denying those with lower stats. No matter how you look at it, Rutgers only cares about numbers! They don’t look at anything else ( essays, EC, etc) If you worked hard enough in school and it shows, you should have no problem but if you didn’t, good luck.

Actually I applied november 30 with scores of 1700 and 3.5 gpa and heard back within a week. I don’t know how they do it

Sent from my DROIDX using CC App

I got accepted to the SAS at NB today and my stats were average. 1650 SAT’s, and a 3.6 weighted GPA. I’m also out of state and I applied early action. They also didn’t recieve all my stuff until December 5 (my Sat scores took forever and I faxed them from my school).

I think they look at everything you have done including the essay and EC’s. I did a lot of volunteering, I did an internship at a medical school, etc. I think it’s all based around if you’re driven. I took 4 AP classes this year and I’ve been taking honor classes since freshman year. Just wait because some people get in earlier, some get in later. It depends.

Don’t give up because if you have a lot of ec’s and wrote a good essay then they’ll look at you. They have to give a decision to you anyways haha.

My EC’s are okay
Academy Of Public Service Member, grades 10,11,12
Weekly Temple Reporter grades 9,10,11,12
Library Volunteer grade 10
4H Club, Just joined this year.

It’s all about gpa and sat scores.

Gee, that made me feel so much better…

Sorry man but I am just being honest. I applied from high school as well and they made me wait an eternity and rejected me. My stats were way worse than yours though lol.

Haha I hate how they make you wait, esp. if its a rejection. I’m waiting like crazy cause if I get in i’m denying my second choice, which I got into

I know how you feel. I applied EA as well, and people with far lower stats than me are getting accepted within a week of applying RD.

It’s so frustrating.

I applied as a transfer and got in 2 days after they got all my credentials lol

Oh so you got in as a transfer not a freshmen? I might transfer if I don’t get in.

Yes I just got accepted last month from a nj community college and I start this spring. don’t worry if you don’t get in as a freshmen, it is so easy to get in as a transfer. I might even get some scholarship from them.
