THIS is UCSB and Isla Vista, Students organize a 'paddle out' in memory of students lost last week

Watch the video, the story is nice but the video is UCSB, imho. Note that the ring of people in the water went in large circle around the float of flowers in the middle (it is kind of hard to tell how far out the ring of people goes.)

I wish I knew how to embed the video...

Woah, LATimes and other newssites picked up on this, too. <a href=“UC Santa Barbara students paddle out to honor Isla Vista victims”>http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-ucsb-students-paddle-out-isla-vista-victims-20140529-story.html</a> the video is towards the bottom of the coverage.
There are a lot more people in the water than show up in the little picture of people holding hands at the top of the LA Times article, though. Looking at the video again, the circle of those in the water is really huge. Look at the dots on the horizon, kinda to the right (those directly across are too far away or there are too few there to really see), and follow them back to the people you can more easily distinguish to the right. Beautiful tribute, anyhow.
