Side note: Have you noticed the commercials for the upcoming Mrs. Maisel season? Sterling K Brown has a role!
@abasket Dancing Miguel on Sterlingās Instagram made my day!!!
Didnāt Rebecca reconnect with Miguel when Tess was born and Beth showed her how to get on Facebook? Thereās alot of back story we donāt know - how and why did they lose touch after Jack died, how did the kids feel when they reconnected and got married?
Wow, @shellfell that would be more recent than I expected.
Yes, that was clearly established in some episode early in the showās run. Beth introduced Rebecca to Facebook, and she found Miguel, after not having talked to him in some long period of time.
So far, the show has had a pretty big blank spot between approximately 1999 (when everyone was 18 or 19, Randall had met Beth, Kevin had eloped with Sophie, Kate was working and making out at the record store) and 2015, when the āpresentā of the show began. Kevinās Manny audition and Rebecca reconnecting with Miguel are among the few scenes we have seen that happened in that gap. Was it sometime around 2005, when Tess would have been born? That seems too early for moms and grandmothers to be getting on Facebook. Also, since the show clearly has Miguel in everyoneās life in 1999, 2005 doesnāt seem so long after that. So maybe it happened when Annie, not Tess, was born? (Or maybe the writers didnāt originally plan to have Miguel in the picture so much in the years after Jack died, but then wrote him in to that period.)
I remember Beth showing her, but I didnāt remember the time frame.
This article talks about the Facebook/Miguel time. They peg it as happening in ā2008ā. Years after (8?) Jack died.

^The article says that Jack died around 1997.
I seem to remember it being mentioned at one point that it had been 12 years since Rebecca had seen Miguel.
Perhaps the second half of this season will deal with the period of time that hasnāt been explored yet.
I wonder if Rebecca (in the end) confuses Nicky for Jack and his being there brings her some comfort?
Late replying to this, but I do agree. Her personality does nothing for me. But I love teenage Kate.
I too was confused by cabin. Is it near Pitt or Philly? And why would Rebecca have been in town alone, far from the cabin?
Itās not, and focusing on the lost phone really annoyed me. An Alzheimerās expert said in an interview, āLosing your keys is not a sign of Alzheimerās. Forgetting what to do with them is.ā In the previous episode, Rebecca clearly didnāt forget what the phone was for.
I didnāt like the complete mix of the present Thanksgiving and the 40th birthday. They were too close in time to make sense with their normal ātime jumpsā. Too easily confused. But I did love this episode; lots of heart-string pulling. I love that Beth was able to help Deja, and maybe found where her place is.
Winter premiere tomorrow night. Seen a few previews recently. Will need to check online for some recaps. Seems like so long ago when it was last on that I do not recall where we left off.
Oh, yay, thanks for letting us know!
Rebeccaās future path (how it looks it will be in any event) reminds me so much of my father. Really hits home. Tough to see.
That was an exhausting episode!
I am on edge about Randallās intruder and how that will play out.
This show makes me cry so often! Watching Rebecca process what may happen was heartbreaking. Glad to see Kate and Toby celebrating Baby Jack, at least for now.
Just watched this morning. I was so scared seeing that intruder.
The scene with baby Randall was the best and made me nostalgic for my babies.
The tension between Miguel and Randall was interesting and made me think of my own dynamic with my siblings. They think āI donāt really know how things areā because I donāt see my parents every day. I think they donāt see the subtle changes and almost have a better picture of what is happening with my parents.
