This Is Us. Anyone watching?

Can you schedule your DVR to tape beyond the scheduled show time @deb922 ??? Is that what you mean that because sports is never on time the taping gets mixed up?

I can @abasket. I like Madam Secretary and have the series set to record. CBS is terrible about timing and more often than not I will only get maybe half of the show. I donā€™t always remember to tape the show afterwards.

Maybe this should go in the little things that annoy you. But when the games always go over, itā€™s a pattern and not unintentional. I will tape the show afterwards but then I have to scroll for where it starts and hope that Iā€™ve recorded enough.

I know why my kids have unplugged from traditional cable. I would too but there is a lot of sports that we watch.

What I do for shows affected by the Sunday football game, like 60 Minutes and Madame Secretary, is have the DVR regularly record the show that comes on after. Hopefully, Iā€™ll remember to do that for the Superbowl, which I donā€™t watch.

@deb922 Does your cable offer replays, for example, Comcast/Xfinity and their OnDemand?

What is a DVR? One of few households that has never had one. If I miss a show, I watch it online. Most shows at this point are available online after a few days.

Man, the therapy session his some nerves. lol

I donā€™t have cable or a DVR. Iā€™ve watched ā€œThis is Usā€ online the next day if I miss it Tues night. Iā€™ll probably do that for the episode after the Super Bowl since I wonā€™t be watching the game & donā€™t want to stay up that late to catch it live.

Obviously, I meant ā€œhitā€ above.

I also set the dvr with extra time, I think I can even give it a few hours extra. But Iā€™d hate to have to accidentally see football instead - lol Iā€™m more likely to watch the puppy/kitten bowls.

If there is reason to think we will find out how Jack died in the episode after the Super Bowl, I will be watching it live even if the SB ends at 2 am.

According to ā€œThis is Usā€ executive producer, Isaac Aptaker, in an interview I just read today, ā€œThe last five minutes might be my favorite thing weā€™ve done on the show to date. I think itā€™s going to leave our audience very eager to see what happens next.ā€

Happy watching tonight everyone

:((

Very emotional.
Lines (maybe not exact) that got to me :

Kevin to Randall- Youā€™re going to be a great old man, by the way, youā€™ll be like your other dad."

Jack to Randall, when Randall tells him he kissed a girl. ā€œIā€™m sure you were a gentleman.ā€

Answer a question, ask 5 more.

The last 5 minutes tonight, no no noā€¦ !! Reminder to self, stock up on Kleenex for the after super bowl episode.

I didnā€™t love this episode but looking forward to the next one!

Yup, executive producer was right :(( (see my above post, #670)ā€¦ā€œyouā€™ve got to fiddle with the switchā€¦ā€

Ugh! The crockpot!! So at least the fire isnā€™t anyoneā€™s fault. I am definitely watching after the Super Bowl!

My heart hurtsā€¦I think Iā€™m a little too invested in this show! But I still donā€™t understand why Kate thinks itā€™s her fault. I wonder if she doesnā€™t go when her dad tells her to or she begs him to run back in for the dog orā€¦?

DH makes chili in our ancient crockpot on SB Sunday. Weā€™ve always been sure to unplug it when weā€™re done.

It broke my heart that Kevin never saw the note that Jack left for him. Unfortunately, Iā€™ll have to rewatch to see what exactly was in the note. It reminded me of my last interaction with my father before he died unexpectedly. We argued about where heā€™d rent the tux for my wedding - an issue I personally didnā€™t care about but which DHā€™s parents wanted me to talk to my father about (groomā€™s tux wouldā€™ve been free if they rented enough tuxes).
