I got accepted to U of I- Urbanan Champaign Chemical Engineering.

I noticed that Chem engineering is in Liberal Arts Science.

College: Liberal Arts & Sciences
Campus: Urbana-Champaign
Major and Department: Chemical Engineering, Chemical & Biomolecular Engr

Wow, I didn't know that! I was considering engineering but decided to go LAS. My current projected major is chemistry and that'd be great if I could switch majors to chem engineering.

Chemical Engineering being in LAS: its historical, when major was added about 100 years ago the engineering department had no facilities for it, the chemistry department did and it has thus remained in LAS since. Nevertheless, for all intents and purposes it is considered part of the engineering college -- follows same admission criteria (including usual 25% to 75% stats), attends engineering department meetings, follows engineering course requirements, and transfers to another engineering major are considered inter-departmental rather than inter-college transfers.
