I got Accepted to USC, UCI, UCR, UCSB, and Berkeley!
Declined from UCLA and UCSD (Biomedical Engineering)
Waitlisted at University of Chicago

Did I get Lucky?? I think yes.

No you weren't lucky. You deserved to be accepted in those schools, and frankly you probably should've been admitted to UCSD and UCLA as well, but i guess the "low" GPA screwed you up. Good job nonetheless, well deserved acceptances.

Congratulations...although you were not lucky, for I'm sure those community college classes brought your gpa down (even if you got A's they are not weighted + they are on top of your courseload)

Great job in school & good luck to you. Where are you headed?

Wow, with those stats you should have been admitted to at least all the UC's. This just doesn't make sense. UCSD should have admitted you even if you applied to hardest major to get into (BME). I see many people that get 1200's and with almost no EC's get into UCSD. UCLA's admission was harder than Berkeley's this year as far as I saw it at my school. I think you should have gotten in at SD and LA. Your fairly low GPA kind of explains the waitlist at Chicago, but other than that you shouldn't feel lucky. It seems like you worked really hard to get where you are, and that doesn't explain why you would get rejected from LA and SD. You even got accepted into USC, which isn't that easy to get into! My guess is that you might go to Berkeley (judging from the exclamation point), but I'm sure you'll do well at any of the schools you're going to.

That's actually not so true for the UCs. The UCs do indeed weigh community college courses that are UC:CSU transferable.

I wouldn't say that you got in because of luck, and I think you probably know that, too. You deserved all of your acceptance letters. Don't try to brush those off as luck.

i can't help but wonder why you called ur 3.7ish GPA "very low". I would expect to hear that from someone who's GPA is below 3.0.

That would depend on whether it was weighted or unweighted. I'm assuming that bigredstylish meant the weighted GPA, since he/she said that it was "very low." Compared with students with GPA > 4.0, it may be considered low (but, of course, not THAT low).
