I had applied for some scholarships through the honors program at my ccc. In the winter term I had updated my schedule to my counselor (head of the tap program). I asked what was my uc gpa since it was 3.69 before the fall semester, now it should be 3.75. He said "well it was higher than last time". I got a copy of my tap certification today and it says 3.6...now most won't complain about this because it is still a resonably good gpa. I'm going to get it fixed on monday and they'll resend it back to ucla. However, does this effect my chances at berkeley and ucsd??? Because if they have to fix it for ucla, wouldn't you reckon they contact the others?

I think that everybody would complain...
Be proactive and tell your school to make sure that everything in every school is fixed. Then call the schools and check. Don't just be hopeful :)
I'd be so mad.

Your chances for what? Scholarships? I hope you aren't talking about chances for admission, since obviously the GPA that matters for that is the one procured from the self-reported academic record (part of the UC application--and the update).

Those common mistakes would happen, I think, at any school.

Sorry if I come off as rude, but I love my community college, and wish I was there now. I love community colleges

sounds like it's more of a california community college problem then a community college problem in general. You guys have crazy deals like if you get a 3.5 or better you automatically get into Berkley or UCLA, or something along those lines with TAPs and IGETC and all these things that I do not understand. But that is stupid how they screwed up your gpa like that, you should smash some faces.

How is this a problem with CCs? Why didn't you inspect your transcripts before you had them sent? I had an issue with my transcripts and had it corrected before I let anyone else look at them.

Ha, we wish there were guaranteed deals with Berkeley and UCLA; there aren't.

"This is why you should not attend a community college "
Where else would we go? That's life, buddy, not just community college. Deal with it.

i agree with squarepeg. way to make a pointless thread with a misleading title rolls eyes

One idiot in the adm office does not define a school.

One of the things people take for granted at cc is some of the teachers are great. they write on the board everything u need to know for the exams and they they ask straight forward questions...

U won't find too many of those at uc.

Nope. You're always on your toes here.
