I appreciate that

come on- there is no way u have 5 point raise when u weight ur GPA

i’d list some more e.c.'s but ur SAT’s r excellent

I think NYU is a bit of a reach with a 3.0 but otherwise u stand a good chance with most of the other schools

p.s. nice trick with the title

also, list the classes u took with the class level (honors, academic)

Thanks for the input. I would list my classes, but their fairly generic. I have a few standoutish EC’s.

Oh and regarding the GPA, yeah it really is that way. We get 6 points of weight added on to honors and AP classes.

And haha yeah, you have to get them to open it somehow.

how do you calculate weight onto your gpa? i never figured it out

You’re in Northeastern, UVM, and UMass Amherst. NYU is probably a 65% to 80% shot, depending on which school you’re applying to.

scrabble- well honestly my guidance counselor just gave me a print out with my gpa and rank. I know we add 4 points to regular classes and 6 points to honors and AP.

parthiv- Thanks for the input. I’m applying to NYU CAS btw.

Macalester–Reach
Colby–Reach
Colorado College–Match
NYU-Reach
Franklin and Marshall–Match
American–Match
Northeastern–Match
Ithaca College–Match to Slight Reach
UVM–Do you mean Vermont?–if so, then Match
UMass Amherst–Slight Reach

The problem in a nutshell is that you are a straight B student (and this is even with the honors/APs added in) applying for some top colleges (like Colby, NYU, and Macalester). Some of the other colleges on your list are more likely candidates, and I have indicated where you are likely to be accepted based upon this.

calcruzer is wrong in saying umass is a slight reach- it is almost a safety

I think that you could easily get into most of these schools the only two that may be hard are Northeastern and NYU.

In at all - except maybe MacAlester.
