But please? I feel as if I have no chance after reading other people's resumes.
And my applications are due in less than a month.
And I could die.</p>

National Merit Semifinalist (so far. PSAT 224)</p>

<p>You're only ranked third in your class? Your SAT is only in the 99th percentile? Don't even bother applying!
(I'm being sarcastic, of course. If your SATs and GPA make you want to die, I would try for a little more self-esteem.) </p>

<p>Tell you what: if you post, in capital letters, "I AM AN EXCELLENT STUDENT AND DESERVE A TOP-QUALITY EDUCATION," I'll chance you. How does that sound?</p>

<p>Your numbers are a match for Reed, but it's a "fit" school where essay and interview are important. L&C and UPS look more like safeties.</p>
