I was away all summer, and just received my junior year report card. About half A's and half A-'s. I suppose my question is, how much of a difference is there in the eyes of admissions between an A and an A-. Is an A an A? I was in all honors, and then AP's for this upcoming year, and the rest of my transcript is A's/A-'s with B+ in French one year (although I skipped a year). I know grades are not in a vacuum, but in regards to who will be looking at this, like Barnard, Columbia, NYU, Georgetown, Smith, Brown, etc.

I would say an A- is an A-.

No idea. My school doesn't give out A-'s, just A's, B's, C's, etc.

Does your school calculate GPA? In some schools an A- is like a 3.7, while others consider it a 3.9.
I don't think there is a big difference between an A and an A-, but a school will see it for what it is; they're not going to start rounding everything.
Your high school will probably send a profile along with your transcript that explains grading policies and gives an idea of the breakdown of grades. I think you have a great shot at the schools you listed.
