I have a dilemma. I was wondering, ever since my ipod was stolen, whether to buy an ipod or not and waited for Job's keynote today. The iPhone really complicates things because it comes out in June and I possible can't survive that long without my music. So, I was wondering whether I should buy an iPod now even though a better one in definitely in the works or should I get a PSP or a Zune?
Please give me you input about the device you would prefer.
Thanks

Well, if you have this many options, then you probably have a lot of money to spend! So why don't you buy a cheap iPod nano or even cheaper, a noname MP3 for the next 6 months, and then get your iPhone in June!

But iTunes only works with iPods.

get a shuffle..i lurves it..i have about 500 songs, i don't know what they're talking about...

CD player? It's probably in your house somewhere. Check under the bed.

iPhone hehe. I don't think they could possible combine more things into one. Technology is getting so confusing.

I say: get a zune/creative zen/psp. All of those are good. The next mp3 player I'm going to get is a creative zen 30GB. I already have an iPod. It's okay, but too fragile for me. And besides, I hate iTunes. Winamp is so much better.

Look at The iPhone on the Apple website (Apple.com) and I can manage my library on WMP or the Zune music store if I happen to buy one. And why does everyone automatically assume (even at school) that I have lots of money to throw around, because in reality I don't.

How much is the iPhone going to cost? It has got to be beyond the price of the video ipods.....

$499 and $599 USD for 4 and 8 GB rsptly

get zune. ipod is overrated

Are there any actual zune owners on here?

Don't buy a Zune. Right now (30 gb), buy either an iPod or Creative Zen Vision: M.
Zune only plays WMV (which is limited to low-res, low bitrate WMV), it requires Zune software to transfer, can't be used as a drive to store data, screen only has 65k colors (262k for the Vision:M), it has no custom EQ, no voice or FM recording, not compatible with PlayForSure (can only use Zune service, which currently doesn't offer video).
Vision:M is better, only thing Zune has is a larger screen and a crippled Wi-Fi feature.

And also its recommended to never buy the 1st version of any product. Let them sort out the bugs first.

iAudio X5 by Cowon.

It's over a year old now but it's by far the best audiophile player on the market. It's got flac ogg and god everything else support. Built in FM tuner and video playback (but if you use any mp3 player for video playback you're a fool... )

Zune and iPod? PLEASE Don't let the big companies fool you into thinking they offer original content. They're just restricting your program access and filetypes... but the X5 is showing it's age and I'm going to wait for its update. (iAudio 6 is sorta yuck IMO)

If you need one now take the Vision: M. It's awesome.

lollllll

I heard about the iPhone today - Apple is really starting to scare me. For that reason alone, I wouldn't get it.

I love how this topic is in collegeconfidential XD
