...but of the schools I'm looking at now...about half require ANY 2 SAT IIs and half don't require any.

I was thinking about taking US History and Math I. But when I got on here, everyone mentions Math II with barely any mention of Math I. So what I'm asking is--will taking Math I instead of Math II hurt me in any way? It's obviously easier and since I'm not being told to take Math II, why take the harder test?

My guidance counselor is a joke and no one really seems to know anything about the SAT IIs at my school, so any help would be appreciated.

Also, if Math II is the test I SHOULD be taking, what book do you recommend? I have AMSCO to help me with the AP/SAT II US History and it's working very well so far.

Math 1 doesn't cover as many topics in mathematics, but it's harder to get an 800 (99th percentile). Math 2 covers more, but apparently you can get 5 or 6 wrong and still get an 800 (8-something percentile)

i'm using barron's btw for math 2.

do you mind telling me where you got your AMSCO review book for APUSH?

Thanks for the help! I'm considering just grabbing a book for Math 2 and just cramming in the concepts I need.

As for the AMSCO book, I picked it up from amazon.com. They don't have any new, but I was able to get a barely used one for $19. According to Amazon now, the cheapest are $24, but it's really well worth it.
