Maybe one's outlook depends in part on one's past. We got a really bad deal with financial aid, so for $40K, I would have very high expectations in all areas. I'd overlook some shortcomings if I didn't have to pay so much. For a full ride, I'd buy a condo and hire a chef! (JK!)

wow, i have heard mixed feelings about this universitry , i have also read it about in epinions.com. Ok , i am a hybrid between a sports fanatic and a science geek. I play in a rec/select team soccer and captianed for a year and i love doing math problems and 'miniature' mad science projects. Will this school fit me?
I am planing to apply to college of science, how is it?

If you want to go to a school where everyone goes to football and other sports events, CMU is probably not the right choice for you. I would suggest looking at schools known for strong academics and good sports teams, maybe Duke and USC. If you want to play on a not-so-serious intramural soccer team, watch Steelers games with your friends when they're televised, and do quite a bit of work for your major, CMU might be a good fit for you.

Thats a good advice, Thank you. How is carnegie's physics field?, is it comparable to other big schools?
Yes, i would like the intramural sports, select requires too much effort.
