<p>So this is such a reach it is funny but what the hell why not.</p>

<p>I am at a public school in Michigan D1 AA school. I'm trying to transfer to UM or ND in the winter but a bunch of friends at HYP and they say it is amazing. I know it is so far out there but you never know, stuff can happen in admin.</p>

<p>Did horrible in HS, 3.0, 27 act, 1900 SAT. Public school in Michigan ranked in top 250 in nation as far as academics. Model United Nations, Student Ambassador soph year to England, France, Austria, Germany and Italy. Took all ap classes but never took the tests b/c i wasn't around with sports.</p>

<p>I was a 4 sport varsity athlete and was recruited by harvard for rowing, my best sport, but my grades were obviously not even close (was a long shot anyways) was top light weight in west michigan - about 5th in the midwest. Also played Water polo 2yr varsity, swam 2yr varsity, soccer 3yr varsity - state champs in each.</p>

<p>rowing was my best - 5th in North America at Royal Henley Regatta. Missed qualifying for world trials by 2 seconds. 9 state champ boats - 4 midwest silvers. 5 place at nationals soph year </p>

<p>Volunteered in HS, nothing big - 200+ hours as rowing and water polo coach. Come from a middle class catholic family of 9 kids. All from my parents none adopted and no divorce/remarriage. Both parents went to college - SMC and U of Detroit - Oldest kid so first in college the rest are going to who knows yet. HAve worked since 7th grade: caddie, paper route, rowing coach, worked for my township, retail, and in a mortgage office. Grandparents from dad's side went to UM and on my moms only my grandfather went to college - ND (grad with 3.95 cum) and then Harvard for law (grad 2nd in class) - wrote for the law review and taught some classes there and GT for short stints</p>

<p>Ran as a township trustee this past summer as a joke with my friends and i just to see if i could get it, but i lost. Kinda a half *ss job at running, but i got about 25% of the vote so it was fun.</p>

<p>College stats - 1st semester soph- 3.92 Poli sci/Business major - BioChem Minor - want to go to law school - thinking maybe yale, harvard, ND or UM for that - um, Three student gov positions. Played water polo for a year, but i blew out my knee so i can't play anymore. Am the campus manager for ONE, a organization to combat poverty. PLan on an internship at a lawfirm this summer and yeah.</p>

<p>Not super familiar with Harvard, i have a friend on the crew team says it is sick. A friend who's dad is a prof there says it is sweet but transfer is near impossible and that is a known by me.... Kinda just throwing logic to the wind and see if it is possible. I am perfectly content with UM or ND (two places i really want to go) but i thought what the hell.</p>

<p>give me all the criticism. kinda want an idea...</p>

<p>anything is possible. you’re just going to need an excellent plan to get in haha</p>

<p>yeah the crew thing is the reason i did bad in hs. like 5 hour practice 5 days a week and away each weekend for regattas. It’s a big sport at Ivies but not really anywhere else unless your a girl - that’s why i considered harvard in the first place… and i got something in the mail from them my soph year about rowing…</p>

<p>Harvard and Princeton don’t accept transfers.</p>

<p>Harvard stated the no transfer policy is for years 08-09, and 09-10 (next fall), so you would not be eligible. </p>

<p>They have not yet announced if transfers will be allowed for 2010-11, or later (but you would be an entering senior so that would be too late). With the current housing overcrowding (and plans to begin House renovations), which motivated the current no-transfer policy, it seems unlikely to change. </p>

<p>Have you considered Yale, Brown, Dartmouth or Penn? Also, you might want to check- I think the NCAA requires transfers to sit out one year for D1 sports - however- crew might not be under NCAA rules?</p>

<p>For Ivy i believe it is. i know outta hs i had to sign paper work for NCAA saying i would not receive financial gain for rowing and such so i assume it is.</p>
