This really sucks...

I got an email saying that they didn't get the official transcript of my SAT scores and that if they don't get it by the 8th, I'm not considered an applicant for admission.

I sent them my scores in late NOVEMBER! I sent them an email and they haven't answered yet... I called and no one ever answers... I'll be really annoyed if I can't be considered because of this. And it wasn't even my fault at all. College Board says that I have sent my scores to them.

So, um... What should I do now?

call your lawyers and sue the **** out of collegeboard
do us all a favor

Write a nice letter to them. Send it-Fedex Priority. If they still don't answer, sue them.

Oh, and don't forget to have the registrar at your school send your transcript SAME DAY AIRMAIL. Call the morning of the 8th to confirm. Keep the UPS receipt for your transcript and tell them the tracking number if they claim to not have gotten it. Or better yet, CHECK THE STATUS FOR THEM. If UPS loses it, then it's no longer your fault.

Or sue collegeboard. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

^^^^
ooooh do that one. that would be nice.

i would fax it rather than send it same-day airmail

I truly hate college board - they are the most beaurocratic, monopolistic, inefficient racket I've ever has the misfortune to encounter. They lose scores all the time, don't have an 800 number, and all the while deny it while continuing to steal your money. I had to threaten with a lawsuit before they "found" my scores. I agree - if you get the chance sue the hell out of them - it'll make my day.

Take action. Don't just sit around and think it will be settled on it's own. Resend your SAT scores, "rush them," bug collegeboard, bug UChicago. Call to confirm that they have your scores afterwards.

Resend them, have your counselor confirm them, have your counselor call and smooth things over.

Then go ahead and give college board hell.

When my son was applying they mixed up his scores with another young man with the exact same name and birthdate. I was incredulous when they told me they do not track identities by ss number but by birthdate -- when they have how many gazillions of kids within the same two-year age span taking the tests? Hours of phone calls -- on my own dime since yes, they have no 800 number -- over a 2 day period before they managed to untangle my son's identity from that of the other boy, who had graduated a year earlier and was already safely ensconced in college.

Call collegeboard and make an actual person talk to you- they HATE that. They would much prefer to tell you to go to their wonderful website and simply click on links that don't actually exist...

The world would be a better place if someone could take down the Collegeboard monopoly.

CollegeBoard lost my scores for a different school so I called and they sent them same day air at no cost. I b**ched the living hell out of them and finally got in contact with manager at their main office, not the call center.

Just to let you know this also happened to my friend who applied to Chicago RD this year....she sent in her scores a long time ago too, but apparently Chicago doesn't have them. Kind of weird....

yea i remember i "rush" reported my scores, only to find out after calling later that they sent them 2 weeks later. still made the deadline, but was ****ed cuz i jus wasted money

Uchicago lost my school report
so I cant complain about only one entity

I'd go with sue the College Board, and call the Office of Admissions during the day, like 2-4PMish. Someone should answer.

Hey Andi, if you call me during 2-4 P.M.ish during any day of the week/month/year............I will answer.

Gigantic WINK

I'm sure you'll all like to know that everything worked out! =) All I did was ask my counselor to fax my scores and I got an email the same day saying that they received my scores.

Thanks for all your advice... Especially that suing College Board idea, which seems like a fabulous way to spend my time. I always say this to everyone who asks me about SAT scores and college: "If I don't get accpeted to any college I want because of my SAT scores, I will make it my life's goal to destroy them." They think I'm joking...
