I am an OOS applicant to Berkeley. (Family will move there next year.) I have SAT 2290, ACT 34, SATII: 800mathii, 800physics, 800korean, 780chem. 5s on four APs from self-study: my school is 'non-AP/IB'. Good ECs. My worry is that I had ranked top 1-2% up until the last semester, but this semester, I was busy with college application, slacked schoolwork, and did very badly. Some of my friends told me senior grades did not count and I was stupid enought ot belive it, too. I am getting ranked around 40% this semester! Will this be a huge problem? I am petrified that I might fail at all good schools including UCB. I am totally panicking.

Again, will this semester's grades break my admission?

UCs do not ask for your ranking or look at your high school transcript till after you’re accepted. I wouldn’t say your accepted but your scores are definitely more competitive than others’.

They won’t even get your senior grades until you’re accepted and you send them your final transcript at the end of senior year. Just keep up a 3.0 and nothing lower than a C- and you’re good.

Yeah I wouldn’t worry guys. I was SO worried ah and thank god it’s over but when you come to Berkeley, there’s MORE worrying. WOrrying that you can never help. LOL you can’t turn back and do anything about your grades. Everything matters. If you’re in high school, and don’t get into a college, at least you have a back up. Community. When you get here your screwed.
