Congrat's, tlaktan, that's quite the list. You have a lot to be proud of. Sorry to hear that things are rough on social front, but there's just a lot of free-floating stress around this time of year. People change a lot at your age, and sometimes a relationship that was wonderful last fall just doesn't sustain itself.

Anyway, glad that Case sent you the nod - maybe you'll be joining us in Ohio!

Hey! First, congrats on moving past SFS as the one and only. Didn't know how you were going to do that--but you've succeeded brilliantly. Well done.

Second, methinks the Notre Dame acceptance bodes well for your Gtown acceptance. Hopefully the Jesuits will appreciate your heart. (They usually do...). Put some of that heart into your Gtown letter!

Andrew - very nice list of acceptances! Do you have many other applications out? Also, can you remind me (us?) if you have any particular majors in mind?

While I congratulate you with my whole heart, I must confess (and I guess I am the ONLY one) that I cannot comprehend why you are applying to ---what is it, 17? - schools. I realize that one can no longer just apply to 3 or 4, as we did back in the day, but I still think perhaps 8 or so are sufficient. After that it is overkill and appears to be just trying to rack up a list of admissions for bragging rights or something. I apologize if I offend anyone, but I am not necessarily talking about the OP, whom I don't know, but what's next? Applying to 20 or 30 schools? I've read repeatedly that this kind of excess is part of what throws the entire process off by making so many schools look super-competitive.

For some kids (again, not talking about the OP since I don't know him) it also looks like a weird form of overcompensation for not getting into the dream school...kind of an obsessive-compulsive overreaacton. I fear an entire generation is collapsing into hysteria about the college application process.

My kids, nieces, and nephews, mostly got into their ED schools but none of them had more than 5/6 other possible schools on the lsit. I sincerely hope this isn't the wave of the future....

I agree that 17 schools seems excessive especially since it sounds like some of these were thrown into the pot AFTER some of the early acceptances came. Still...congratulations on your acceptances. DD will be applying to 6 schools max.

Oh! Sorry. I forgot to mention that I reduced the number of schools I applied to (I withdrew in some cases and didn't even start in others), so I've applied to only a few additionaly schools (not 17).

As far as my potential major.. Poli Sci or International Relations.. only Georgetown (so far) has a International Politics major..

Good to see you back, Andrew. :) Congrats on all of those acceptances, and good luck with the others. I know Georgetown will bring you good news in April.
