A brand new short video was just released to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Thornton School of Music. The benefactor, Flora Thornton, is interviewed briefly in the introduction.

Georgia Girl, to be honest, your blatant and frequent advertisements for USC on this forum has been getting a bit tiring.

The poster from Bard, e.g., at least advertises him/herself as a representative, and then gives good, honest opinion, and has become a welcome and trusted poster to this board. This here however, is self promotion on another level, and if you notice - no one ever responses to your posts here at the music major forum, because they really don’t care.

stephmin, Georgia Girl is a mom and USC alum who lives in Georgia. She is not a paid representative of USC.

You may be of the opinion that her posts are “tiring” but you also do not speak for many posters, and your replies like this one come across as petulant and immature. (You have been snarky in previous posts directed to Georgia Girl and thank goodness she has the class to ignore you or actually respond with facts/figures you snidely ask for).

You obviously have a problem with USC for whatever reason, but do not assume because readers aren’t responding that we are not appreciative of Georgia Girl’s insights into a university and music program that we may be considering for our college bound kids.

I don’t have any problems with USC Thornton. Actually almost applied there myself.

Thank you guitarist’s mom. I am not a paid representative. My son was a gifted violinist and also a composer, but did not continue this interest into his adult years. That is one reason I appreciate the sacrifices these young students are making to succeed in a very difficult field. To make beautiful music is, indeed, a great gift.

I went to the search function and counted the number of threads started by Georgia Girl in the music forum. It is a total of 9 in a period of over a year.

It is regrettable stephmin finds nine threads offensive.

stephmin, that’s great that you don’t have any “problems” with USC Thornton. Sounds like maybe you just are annoyed by G. Girl’s posts, for some reason, but just a reminder that many of us are not, and all kinds of different information that is posted here can be valuable for whatever reason, or maybe just fun. Like everything else on this forum, one may appreciate some posters thoughts and not others… Sounds like maybe you ought to just skip G. Girls posts from now on. Good luck in your college endeavors!
