Did anyone get accepted to harvard, or even Yale, princeton and duke with ONLY the ACT and not the SATI? Did anyone get in with a 30 or any below a 30? What is harvards average ACT score??

There is no average ACT score released, but most students score a 29 or above on the ACT.

hrm... yes I'm curious about that as well. A couple of my friends scored really well on the SAT(34/35), but rather poorly on the SATs - 2000 range (according to them). If that's correct, then they would have a much, much better chance with a 35 ACT than a 2000 SAT?

technically...but harvard requires SAT 2's and ALL your scores show up on your score report...so even though they will "technically" only take the highest ACT score into consideration...fact of the matter is they will see that low by harvard standards SAT score and it will subcontiencesly be an admission factor

My hishest SAT score was 1320, but I got a 34 on the ACT. I still got in.

I got in too. My highest SAT score was 1470 and my highest ACT score was 35.

Isn't it known that the ACT is generally harder given the really tight time constraints? I think in some essence, the ACT is given more weight than the SAT I if you have SAT II scores, or is that a figment of my imagination?

I got in with the ACT, but I also had to take the SAT IIs.

Around here, people generally think that the ACT is easier than the SAT, probably because the ACT is more of a test of what you know, whereas the SAT is more of a test of your learning ability. With that said, one of the things I didn't like about the ACT was that questions are not arranged in order of difficulty.

SAT doesn't test learning ability but test how well you can decipher their little tricks...ACT in my opinion is much easier because it is much mroe strait forward...plus the science section is rediculously easy

I agree that the SAT is trickier than the ACT, which is probably why I think it's easier to "beat the system" with the SAT.

A 2000 range is only slightly lower than a 34/35.

Actually, a 34 ACT is supposed to correspond to a 1520 SAT. Therefore, I would think that a 2000 SAT is substantially lower than a 34/35 ACT. By substantially, I mean in the same way that a, say, 1340 SAT is lower than a 34/35 ACT.
