Those Accepted to NASS

Good stats. Impressive for this stage in the app. process.

... I just wanted to see if I could get in. I don't have the money

Hmm... Don't waste their time if you are not interested. On the other hand, if you ARE interested in leading among the finest military officers in the world....Then apply for waiver of the fee (yes they do have that for NASS) and find a way to get down and back! You won't need any money while there. Ask your BGO for resources, of take up a collection to send yourself.

Good Luck!

I'd be awfully surprised if we didn't start hearing soon. I subscribe to the belief that the just-after-midnight applications don't look too different to admissions committees than those submitted a couple of days or even weeks later, but they're still really thrilling to complete -- the adrenaline, maybe. In any case, good luck to all!

yeah im hoping we'll all start hearing soon as well. i find it odd cuz when i applied to West Point SLS i gotmy acceptance letter a week later (post-dated 3 days after i sent in my application!) and i didnt even apply as soon as it opened. but i applied to NASS the day the app came out and havent heard anything yet, same with CGA's AIM

i think its funny that i got a form letter from west point today inviting me to apply to SLS because i have high psat's, i guess they didnt check to see that i already got in before they sent it, lol

It's not that I wouldn't like to go—I would like to know more about Annapolis, even though West Point is what I'm set on—but like I said, my family isn't doing too well financially right now. Maybe I will check out that waver. Then again, subjecting myself to three consecutive weeks of torture may not be the best idea...

Oh, and btw: my GPA Unweighted is 3.89, not 3.98. Minor typo, but still a lot different.

From what I've heard...NASS is only torture for those not interested, and pure fun for most on this forum!

ehiunno- West Point and Air Force sent out their acceptances before we heard from Navy last year. We had no idea whether our kiddo would get into one or none. Turned out she got into all 3. We made her choose 2 - and she chose Air Force and Navy. Turned out that was smart, cause she also was selected for CA Girl's State...and ended up going 3 sequential weeks anyway to those 3 events.

Believe it or not, she met some kids who were planning on going to all 2 Summer Seminars!

Got my acceptance letter today. Third session. I was surprised no one posted yet. Has anyone else received his/her letter?

I haven't heard yet...:(

I never got a letter of acceptance. Apparently they sent my acceptance letter to the wrong address, but i found out in a mass email correcting something.

Hehe...that's pretty funny...well, at least you got in.

Congrats, Marine2011! No news yet here.

Congrats to those who made it!

Tell me, does attending this in any way factor in when being selected for admission?

I really should become a BGO when I get to NC. That way, I could answer my own questions. :)

congrats to those who have gotten thiers so quickly

yeah im truly going to test whether or not i would like military life or could fit in or even handle it. i think im gonna pick between west point and annapolis... i cant do both cuz im obligated to go to 2nd session at west point, which if i remember right is the same as 2nd at annapolis, and i couldnt do 2 back to back cuz of transportation and stuff... and i want to somewhat of a life this summer as im going a crapload of other stuff (finishing pilots license, governors school(hopefully))

At Session #2 last year I was there when they said...of the 1800 young people who go through NASS, roughly 600 of you will recieve offers of appointments... ( that counts all 3 sessions) Which is interesting, since they only offer 1500 total. So far, in our kiddos little squad ( Nass #2, Charlie 4-2) of 7, 3 have received appointments and 2 more are still waiting. One of the group enlisted and one decided not to go military. So those statistics seem interesting.

Actually, the numbers from NASS '04 as reported by Cadre at NASS '05: Approximately 10% of NASS attendees that year were appointed to the Class of 2009.

Does anyone know the percentage of those who attended NASS and applied for an appointment that got rejected? Or the proportion of those who attended NASSA and got accepted to those who attended NASS and got rejected.

Just got my letter today! Will be attending Session 3.

Go Navy!

lol again you did kinda switch that around :) , and your really trying to get a ton of viewers for that thread aren't you? lol campaigning for it on this forum and with the deceiving title......oh well now back to USNA SS stuff

I hope I get in although as of right now I'm already attending USAFA and USMA SS, and will probably end up going to boys state aswell so I have quite a jampacked schedule this summer and not sure if I can fund all 4 of them so we'll see. Good luck to everyone
