Good luck, tn48th, and I hope you make the right choice and join me at NASS. :-D

yea when I found out it was through and email that a Captain had sent me because my acceptance letter for NASS got returned to them, so it wasn't as cool as getting a letter but hey I still got in went and had the time of my life.

Yeah, seems USNA has issues with that...rosaauthor's acceptance letter was mailed to the wrong address, and he found out he got in via an email that corrected something wrong with the acceptance packet.

mine was a little weird because the adress the Naval Academy had was the adress when I lived in Sweden, but when I applied I did so from Wisconsin where I lived during junior year so they got a little messed up with that. Then my application for admission got messed up when I moved to Mass. so yea I kind of had a hand in helping USNA with confusion

The only problem with mail for me is it takes so freaking long to reach CA! :-)
But, everything comes in time...

Hey guys- yeah I sent stuff out for USAFA, USMA, and USNA Summer Seminars and haven't heard from Navy yet on anything. The swim coach contacted me wanting times for possible recruitment but thats it. I got my updated GPA and stuff too late for USMA (they were full by the time I applied) and I got an interview for USAFA but I won't know on that either for a little while. What were some of the things you guys put down on the application? My PSAT scores sucked big time, but I'm hopeing that everything else makes up for it. I had like..

PSAT scores- 50 math (yuck), 56 reading and writing or something. Honors & AP classes, 3.5 (approx) gpa, Eagle Scout, President of several large clubs, Peer Leadership as tutor and mediator, Varsity letters in swimming and went to state, 155 hours civic involvement, TONS of sports intramurals, editor for school newspaper, job, lifeguard certified, and some other stuff as well...

Has ANYONE heard yet? I hate waiting lol good luck to everyone!

Has anyone heard anyhting from the Naval Academy that live in the Southeastern area? I applied and have not heard anything... Does anyone know the amount of people they have accepted already or how many spots the Naval Academy holds for Summer Seminar

there are a total of 1800 spots at NASS that are split into 3 sessions of 600 each

Be patient guys...I didn't find out until late March. Just stay focused on academics and check the mailbox.

It took me awhile to find out, I want to say it was aprilish when I found out and I had applied early like I was on the website at midnight...just wait until next year with the real application process, now that's a lot of waiting!!

Don't worry about finding out really late, or being told that you didn't get in. If you want it bad enough, you will find a way. I was notified of my acceptance to NASS one week before Session 1. I went through waiting list after waiting list, and being told that I was most likely not going to be invited. I didn't get down on myself one bit, I just kept at it. Here I am one year later going through the same process, but this time it's the real thing. Right now I'm tripple Q'd with a MOC nomination. That expirience from last year, showed everyone that this is what I really wanted to do, and that when someone told me no, I didn't give up. Please guys, don't ever give up! Be pushy and don't stop contacting the acadmey. GO NAVY!

zero-

zero! I was wondering where you were. I remember you from last year. congrats thus far!

whats all this about being tripple Q'd or double Q'd

how does one go about getting these mysterious "q's"???

You get a letter.

Colby,

3Q'd means that the Admissions Board has found you Academically, Physically, and Medically Qualified (i think that's how it goes). You'll get a Letter of Assurance...assuring you an appointment, should you successfully (sp?) complete a DodMERB review and/or receive a nomination.

I think that's how it goes.

2Q'd, well, you get the picture.

Being tripple qualified doesn't get you an LOA.

Ah, oh well.

Thanks for the info.

Yup, still here APan. Just waiting, lol. Where are you along in this whole process, if you are at all?

yea, im waiting as well . . ..

Ergggg, lol

(btw, how would one go about showing their motivation for being accepted into NASS)

Just bug the hell out of who ever you have to, let them know that THEY need YOU there. It's all about the sqeaky wheel. If you want it, you will find a way. Be creative folks!
