Are you guys getting nervous yet?

The EA thread consists of many legacies, and I know that that shouldn't scare me since they're legacies...

But it does. These students are just so amazing.

I'm just afraid of the bar being set too high based on their stats... :D

The bar is very high. But I truly believe that ND looks at the whole picture, not just stats. My daughter is hoping to get in based on strong GPA and very unique ECs, but not test scores, which are way below par. Remember too, that not everyone who was accepted early decision is going to choose ND, as hard as it is to believe. Many of them have also applied to Georgetown, BC, HYP, etc., and some will end up going closer to home, prefer a bigger city atmosphere, etc.

Sunshadow... did your D apply EA or RD.... i forgot

Did she get in or are you still playing the waiting game?

Hope is all you have left at this point, so be hopeful!

My oldest son is a Freshman at ND. He was admitted RD last year with a 33 ACT, 4.0 GPA, no legacy. You don't have to have a legacy or a 36 ACT to be admitted to Notre Dame - of course, they help, but a strong candidate will have a good shot anyway.

I'm hoping the ND family wants my second son who is applying for admission this year. I'd be thrilled to have both of my boys at Notre Dame!

My D applied regular decision. her adcom said that she would have a better shot in the regular applicant pool based on SAT scores (she never finishes, so ends up with low scores. But has a high GPA in an academically tough private school.)
Unfortuntately, she will not even talk about ND as she believe she has no chance and doesn't want to be disappointed. So her focus is on lesser tier schools. So, this forum is my only way to vent!
