I'm completely confused. See, in 8th grade I began taking high school courses, and I took three of them ending up with a 3.8 GPA. However, in the actual 'Freshman' year of high school, I screwed up big time because my grandma, who had raised me, had a stroke and died, leaving me severly depressed, and I ended up with a 3.54 GPA (note; all so far are all honors, science and math are advanced 1 year). For schools like MIT that say they will discount freshman year, would they discount either my 8th Grade (I pray not) or my actual freshman 9th grade (which I hope they do) or Both (comprimise)????? Any thoughts would be great, thanks..

assuming you're to graduate in 12th grade like everyone else, i don't think they would count either your 8th grade or 9th grade marks... 8th grade being too early, and 9th grade being your freshman year (3 years before graduating)... there's no way they'll consider your 8th grade marks and not your 9th grade ones, that just doesn't make sense.

bumpppppppp

It is my understanding that Johns Hopkins although they don't "disregard" freshman grades they consider them LESS than sophmore and junior year grades.
I am not totally sure about this, so perhaps someone else could confirm.
