Those crazy sororities!

I posted something similar to this before, but here's a bit of a twist on the question:

Which are your most chilled out, laid back of the sororities? Which are the least jappy and most fun of the sororities? By this I mean, which sorority are you most likely going to find a bunch of girls who want to sit around arguing about Schopenhauer, smoke a bowl, and then march down to Washington to protest the genocide in Darfur? Which sororities will the girls most likely be painting, be listening to metal music, be wearing tie-dye and birkenstocks? Where are the girls going to be arguing over libertarianism vs. liberalism, maybe doin some yayo (haha just kidding of course...), holding poetry slams and reading Kerouac?

That's really the type of sorority I'm looking for - something funky, intellectual, artsy, hippy-esque, daring, etc. I'd love to join a sorority if I could find one like that, or at the very least, one that's not overly jappy.

So does anyone have any suggestions for the least jappy and most fun of the sororities?

Off the sorority topic.
Minus the drug scene (I'm an adult, and I have no idea - nor will I use this forum to lecture you about drug use - that's for your parents)... you might find like-minded, artsy students at Risley Dorm, which is a program house you can apply for.

FYI - One of the links I gave you was from the Cornell Review, Cornell's conservative newspaper. Naturally, there is some bias there. I'm a liberal myself, but I thought you would enjoy reading it anyway. Reading their anti-Risey article actually gave me more respect for Risley residents.

Too late to edit... the article is not anti-Risley.

I don't think you're going to find and artsy sorority...

pot and coke( whether you're serious or not) can be found in many of the houses

While the 12 different sororities are all really diverse, there isn't one that stereotypically fits that description. Tahoe has a good idea though - Risley seems to exude that type of environment, although they are truly artists at heart.

Yea, I've considered Risley, it really sounds awesome. I already sent in my housing applications (just for a regular coed double) but I'm going to check out Risley my first year and see if I want to apply to it for Sophomore year. It really seems like an awesome place, but I heard that it can be a bit too crazy for freshman, though I don't know if that's true or not.

Uhh. Though the sororities are very diverse you individually could probably find 1 or 2 where you'd fit in and be happy, i can 100% assure you that none of the sorotiies fit the stereotypes youre looking for.

Yea, I didn't think there'd end up being one that fit that stereotype exactly.

But is there one that's just more laid back and less jappy in general?
