Those of you who have heard from Loyola

Hi everyone,

My daughter received her acceptance from Loyola of Chicago yesterday. It was only the acceptance letter without mention of Merit Aid, etc. She received an acceptance last week
and it included all of the merit monies. We had expected at least some monies from Loyola because this was considered one of her safeties.

Did your D/S receive monies with their acceptances from Loyola of Chicago??

Thanks so much~

i havent gotten my letter yet but i am wondering when your daughter sent her application in because i am curious when i should be expecting mine

One of my D’s friends was accepted via text message. She received a follow up letter with merit aid. Another friend received merit aid via a letter separate than the acceptance letter. When did your daughter apply? These two applied quite early.

Some schools sent scholarships in another letter.

Do you know what stats are needed for LUC’s various merit scholarships?

Academic Scholarships: Freshmen

The Presidential Scholarship is a four-year scholarship, totaling $56,000 ($14,000 per year)
The Damen Scholarship is a four-year scholarship, totaling $40,000 ($10,000 per year)
The Loyola Scholarship is a four-year scholarship, totaling $34,000 ($8,500 per year)
The Trustee Scholarship is a four-year scholarship, totaling $24,000 ($6,000 per year)
The Dean’s Scholarship is a four-year scholarship, totaling $16,000 ($4,000 per year)

Follow up right away with the school. I know someone who missed the financial aid deadlines because because of a dash in her name was present on one item and not present on another item of the applications.

OP: I can’t speak to Loyola’s procedures, but last year, my D’s school sent the scholarship award in a separate letter which arrived about 4 days after the acceptance letter. So that does happen. But I wouldn’t wait too long to contact them if it’s not forthcoming.

Merit letters for my older D came both ways: some with acceptance, some a couple of weeks after.
