Do you know if colleges consider non-academic classes such as physical education and drivers ed when they are looking over your transcript or re calculating GPA?

No .

soo.. they totally scratch them out?

Well as long as you didn't fail PE often or something, they probably don't care.

sweet... i got B's in all of them and they are the only plain B (non B+'s) I have on my transcript so this is actually very very good for me...

Driver's Ed doesnt count.
PE does but its only 1 class so colleges would generally forgive a bad grade in it.

im not sure about PE, some schools treat it differently, my school does not count it into GPA, so im not sure all colleges just automatically include it. and no, you arent going to be rejected from a college for getting a B in PE lol

At my school you need a year and a half of sometype of P.E. credit to graduate (whether it be through waivers, p.e., or sometype of sport at school) so obviously it counts in your GPA. My 4.0 grades in football helped my GPA...

I'm not talking about high schools counting them in your GPA.. im talking about COLLEGES considering them when they are looking over your transcript (all your high school grades) and when they recalculate your GPA (if they do)

no i know, its that some hs count it as pass/fail, how can colleges count it into the gpa when they cant get a letter grade from a P or an F, you know what i mean?

Whoa, I must say all you guys have it easy. In our school you get a letter grade in gym [which seriously kills your GPA, which is probably why I was so hardcore in gym] and you have to take it all four years of high school. Talk about the sweet life for all you guys :p

The universities I applied to did not even ask for my P.E. grades. ( I applied to 10 or 11 universities btw. I can't remember the exact number.)

You should ask the particular school you are applying to. Some schools use the GPA supplied, which would include PE. Other schools will recalculate your GPA based upon academic coursework. Of course, they will see the grade. So failing gym would not be smart.

In my school you get a letter grade for both Health and Gym (although they are they are taught by the same teacher and same period but just different days of the week). I took them freshmen year and got C's for both, it killed my GPA :X I hope colleges don't factor in these grades when calculating the GPA...
