Just curious. Maybe this can settle the "FA request = likely letter" debate.

I dont think this will settle the debate yet, since there have only been acceptances. The only thing that would let us know for sure is if a person received a financial forms request letter recently and got rejected.

I was never requested for anything. In fact, Cornell never sent me any correspondence or email, except the one about my online account, until I recieved my acceptance yesterday. I was beginning to get worried...

That being said, I was extremely diligent about my FA forms, and made sure to have everything in on time or before the deadline, so a request for forms wouldn't have made sense.

As MonkeyPin said, I was quite diligent about my financial aid forms and thus made sure my forms were in on time. As a result, there was no need for them to contact me.

I have seen this debate concerning what an email for financial aid means and I honestly don't know. I am simply gald I got into Cornell University.

I guess the only way to resolve this conflict is to wait three weeks and see what the results are for people who received emails telling them to send in their financial aid stuff.

Good luck to you!

I received a letter in the mail earlier this week regarding missing FA documents. I received the letter in the mail today accepting me to ILR. I am so excited, relieved and happy!!!

I received the FA letter and the acceptance letter.

I recieved a request for FA forms ysterday and have not yet recieved a letter. If mailed a few days ago, even yesterday, first class, I would have recieved it. I have not. I really hope this theory is true, cause I guess it would mean i've been accepted but i highly doubt there is any correlation.

I don't think that I put a request for the FA, but I got the email from Cornell yesterday regarding that. Did you guys receive the acceptance by mail or email? I thought the final decision won't come out until the end of March.

holy crap I got in

congrat, janas.joker...

but I thought Cornell, as an Ivy league college, doesn't do rolling admission.

I applied to the engineering school. I still haven't heard anything from them.

Besides, janas, did you get your acceptance letter by email or mail?

CALS, ILR and Hotel have rolling admissions

I got an email, but have not found out about my acceptance yet.

i got a hard-copy FA letter a week and a half ago and still haven't received an acceptance letter, and i'm not expecting one. i don't think an FA necessarily equals a likely letter...

hey did any internationals get a request for FA forms? I didnt even ask for aid and I got an email requesting FA forms, then later I got another email telling me to disregard the previous email cuz it was sent to internationals by mistake.....can i assume ive been accepted? :D

To quag_mire: If I'm not mistaken, all internationals got that email... At least everyone in my school did.

to ursulaXYZ: did your friends actually ask for aid, or they got the email regardless of whether or not they requested aid?

I received a letter that I was missing financial aid documents....and then about a week later i was accepted to CALS.

Congrats on everyone who got accepted so far :).

so the college of engineering decisions haven't been posted yet right?

To quag_mire:

Some who asked for aid actually did not get the e-mail. I guess they've sent everything in so there's no need for the e-mail. But all of those who didn't apply for FA did get the e-mail. So I assume a large number of internationals got that e-mail.

But again, there are only about 15-20 ppl from my school applying to Cornell, and most of them did apply for FA. So I guess it could be mere chance that all those who did not ask for FA got the e-mail.

ok has everyone's fa to do list changed. can we all now see
go to
account schedule
student center

is this just preparing us for the decisions online?
