Those who still have not received a decision...

CNCL, do you plan on reapplying for the spring or for the following fall?

fall 04: Intro Chem (A), Cal II (A), Macroeconomic (A), Intro to engineering(A-)
spring 05: Cal III(A), Orgo(A), Phys II(A), Explore engineering (B)(something like that)

the long essay i wrote about how my relatives look down on me(typical for a chinese family) and how i want to prove them wrong. i know its a pretty bad topic... but whatever.. the short answers.. the "why this major" question... i basically said science is useless without engineers... the "why Cornell" question... i said my college has a small engineering student body and no competition... i also wrote about how i dislike students there only want to pass their courses rather than learning...

yeah a 3.84 freshman gpaa is great not bad.

God these kids now adays

kkl230, I plan to apply to Cornell again for fall, 2006 along with a few other schools. College of engineering doesn't accept spring transfers. Thanks for your concern.

ti83plus, how many credits have you completed by the time of application? Do you have any major EC hooks? And what did you write on the activity/work experience short answer question?

I'm still trying to figure out what may have caused the rejection. My schedule is some what similar to yours:

Fall: Calc II, Physics I, Intro to Electrical Engineering, Writing (15 transferable credits) 3.71 semester GPA
Spring: Calc III, Physics II, General Chem I, C programming, Writing (18 transferable credits) 3.78 semester GPA
3.75 cummulative after 1 year.
I plan to take a tougher load next semester, 22 credits of engineering curriculum while hoping to boost GPA to 3.8 or above.

So just from these I guess it could be because my HS record & test scores aren't as strong as yours; my GPA isn't as good and I haven't taken a very tough course load. My essay may be quite unambiguous too, thus the rejection. Is there anyway I could reach you (AIM or MSN; pm me if you feel uncomfortable posting it)? I still have some questions that I really hope to find answers to... Thanks for your help and congrats again.

I wish you the very best CNCL. I hope you perserverance will show Cornell that you truly deserve to be there. Good luck!

Thanks kkl230, have fun at Cornell!

for those who got excepted into cornell engineering.... is there a way to see the financial aid package before sending in the deposit?

is anyone else on a transfer waitlist and still waiting for a decision?

i know i should probably call my regional officer in case theyre still deciding ... but i dont know what to say other than "FOR CHRISSAKE PLEASE LET ME IN"

I'm still waiting for Georgetown, I wasn't waitlisted, but they did want to see my spring semester grades, and then they lost it, so I had to send it again yesterday. I actually should have received a decision a week ago. kishany, I know exactly what you mean.
