Those who went to orientation already

whats the difference between an impacted/not impacted class?

Jasonx88: the only difference is that impacted classes have a smaller drop date period (I believe it is only two weeks)

what's the regular drop date period then?

Also, impacted classes tend to be more competitive.

just wondering, what day did you guys take those group pictures that are up on the oreintation website?

They're taken on day 3, prior to the tour.

anybody know when well know our address at ucla and that type of info?

youre going to get your roommate info on aug14. i assume you'd get the other stuff too

oooo gracias

thanks. random question for any of you: what credit card do you guys have? sorry i know its really random.

Nice try...

nice try? i was just looking for some recommendations for credit cards which college students use

amazon visa...great benefits!

i'm not getting one my first year... i don't have the money so i don't want the temptation lol.
i will be bringing my debit card... random question, do any of you ever need to write checks for anything?

to pay credit card bills

how ironic hahah. credit cards arent really a temptation because its spending money thats not yours.

so if you don't send in anything for your bruin card before you go to orientation will you be able to sign up for it there? (I was in Europe from June 18th till like 4 days ago and just read online that you needed to send an application and photo in 5 weeks before your orientation)

You can have your BruinCard taken there. I think they open at 8am? (someone correct me). Don't worry about it.

My orientation was on 8-4-06 for transfers and it wasn't too bad.

I skimmed through Citans journal, and his experience was about the same as mine. The thing that i did not like was walking from Boelter Hall to the Covel commons. By the time i got there, the workshop was almost over, and I was tired and sweating. I still wonder if it was really necessary for the orientation to be from 7:30am to 9:00pm, and 3 days for 1st year people.

Most of my classes that I registered were on the wait list, but my OC said that they will probably open up another section.

Also my OC was Alex for mechanical engineering.

Jasonx88, on Aug 14th, you'll only get your roommate info (name, number, e-mail address) and room number (since you already know your building.) You won't officially be given your address until move-in week but, if you do some looking around online, you'll be able to find the addresses...
