Those who were accepted after being deferred

I started to wonder..
those who were accepted after being deferred...
did they take any particular action to get accepted?
Or, most of them just sit on their hands until April 1st?

Because I got deferred, and I guess like most of you who got deferred
(and who still consider Yale as dream)
I don't know whatever I do will in anyway help me.

Cuz, writing some new essays when they are reading tons of new essays seems like a moderately optimistic idea to actually affect the result, don't you think?
So what I want to do is case study.

Cuz one girl in the upperclass of my high school got in to Harvard
after being waitlisted because she sent many new stuff about her activities
and they acknowledged her zeal and effort.
Getting deferred is somewhat like being waitlisted, right?
But, I don't know what to do; what will help me; or what they really think anyway.

Crap. I don't know what to think. Help ~ lolz

Inundating the admissions office with extra stuff might actually aggravate some people. If you feel like you haven't presented a complete image of yourself, then maybe. But if you've already sent 7 letters of recommendation and tomes of your achievements, then don't overdo.

My interview coordinator guy told me that last year in my city, out of three guys that were deferred (there were more, I'm sure), only one got in eventually. I'm assuming he didn't do anything to gain admission, because the alumnus said that he'd forgotten about being deferred, so acceptance was a nice surprise since he was about to enroll at a very expensive second-tier private.
