Gov. Charlie Crist is a loyal Florida State University alum, but he ran out of superlatives praising the University of Florida athletic program after he traveled to Atlanta Monday night to watch the Gators again win the NCAA men's basketball championship.

"Stunning. It's absolutely amazing what they have done," Crist said about Florida winning one football and two basketball national titles in the span of one year and one day.

"It is amazing what this sports program has done," he said. "It's phenomenal. They just keep winning and winning and winning."

Crist's enthusiasm was enough to overshadow one sartorial faux pas before Tuesday's Cabinet meeting in Tallahassee. He wore a dark blue navy tie with orange stripes that weren't quite the same tone as the Gator colors. A peek behind the tie revealed it was actually a University of Virginia tie.

For the second time this year, Crist won a bet with Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and will receive chocolate candies filled with peanut butter that resemble buckeyes, the poisonous nut that is Ohio State's mascot. "I'm glad we didn't have to give our coconuts to the governor of Ohio," Crist said about part of his ante in the bet.
