<p>columbia is SO famous for being very liberal; many refer to it as uc berkeley's east coast twin, although that's not exactly true.</p>
<p>but if you didn't know columbia well enough to know about its famous liberal reputation, i'm kind of worried that you applied early.</p>

<p>I just knew that Columbia is famous for a politically active student body. As a whole I didn't find a die-hard liberal attitude concering Columbia, but I see that that's the case. If anything, being conservative at Columbia would be interesting, not a bad thing at all. Columbia's Republican student org. is the largest in NYC, and I've grown up in a town surrounded by comparative "liberals" who I'd say outnumbered conservatives with a 8:1 ratio!</p>
<p>Thank god Columbia is liberal...the only way I could handle studying in the US would be being in a school that doesn't agree with the countrys politics...</p>
<p>Not really sure what it means for the "school" to agree or disagree with the administration's policies.</p>
