Thoughts about my AP plan?

AP Biology-Will start tomorrow. Will read through AP Biology 2014 by Barron's, take the Barron's practice tests, and maybe supplement with some other practice exams.

AP Calculus BC-Just have to finish up series/sequences, and then it'll be non-stop taking practice exams.

AP Chemistry-Will begin Zumdahl tomorrow. 22 chapters in 3 months, so approx. 7 chapters a month. After that, April will be spent taking practice exams.

I have from now until exam day. Do you think this is feasible? I have approx. 4-5 hours per day after I get home from school to study for just these three APs. If anyone has self studied AP Chem before, please offer advice.

I am currently in AP chem at school using Zumdahl. I think that it is feasible for you to do that. Hopefully you have already had a chemistry class since so far this year I feel that we haven’t really learned much new material just gone deeper into regular chemistry’s material.

I’ve done SOME chemistry through an SAT II prep book, but I stopped at the VSEPR chapter (I hate memorizing VSEPR stuff)

bump

Any more input?

bumping one last time

I think doing all that chem condensed into three months is extremely difficult. To do well on the exam you REALLY need to have had lab experience. Many of the questions are based on required labs done in the classroom.

There are also many chem concepts that require more than just reading in a textbook to understand, and studying requires many practice problems as well as answers. If you’re willing to take all of that on, including studying for bio & Calc BC, then by all means go ahead. Just don’t expect to both do well and keep your sanity. Do you have a light school load or something that allows you so much time for self-studying?

My school load is extremely light. I have virtually no homework and have to do minimal studying (half an hour a week?) to do well in school. Can I just watch YouTube videos on the labs?

did you end up taking the APs?

I self-taught the BC material but didn’t take the exam; took AP Bio. Taking chem this year.

@TeamRocketGrunt‌ yay I’ll be taking chem this year as well! How was bio?

MCQ was laughable. FRQs weren’t bad, but the first question threw a lot of people off. I budgeted time horribly on the FRQs and ended up with a 4. Ah well.

Still pretty great though!
